Leaf Story

So here goes. People keep on asking me why I call my self 'Leaf'. I get it at least once a week. They say, "what is with the leaf thing?" I say, "mind your own business!"
No no, I kid. I would never say that. I usually just tell people to go fuck them selves.
Back to my story. Back in old 2005 when i was a young chap of 18, my friend Dee and I went to the movies. It was November I believe and we were just out of high school and in our first semester of college. I'm sorry if any one else was with us at the movies but my memory is pathetic so all I recall was Dee and I at the movies.
Ok. We went to the movies as I previously stated, to see Walk the Line. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and the loverly Reese Witherspoon. I was somewhat hesitant to go see it but Dee insisted so I went along. Musicals aren't usually my type of movie. Well smack me silly was I wrong. The movie was brilliant. The soundtrack was even better. I couldn't ask for more. Great acting, great music, great everything!
After the movie I had to see more of this Joaquin Phoenix and his films. Eventually I became a Joaquin fan.
So what about leaf? Well Dee and I got into a conversation about the Phoenix's and I had heard that Joaquins name used to be Leaf. So that night I was dubbed "leaf" and in honor of Leafs brother I dubbed Dee "River".
And that is basically the whole story. Some people actually think that is my name and have called me that the first time they meet me. Its weird but cool. So I don't mind. I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a while so there it is. Now stop asking me! I'm sorry (Dee) if I left any of the story out but thats all I remember. If there is anything more let me know and I'll add to it. So thats it. You better be-leaf it!

5 minutes later...

So I dont think I saw it at the theater. I probably saw it on dvd. I do have trouble remembering things. Ginko baloba is going on the shopping list. But the conversation did happen. Hmm.


10 minutes later...

After that whole debacle. Well not debacle but mix up. I tried to name everyone with an earthy name. So I do remember Miguel becoming 'busch", spelled that way because we didn't want to associate him with the bastard currently in office right now. And I named Kathy 'rain' just because it suits her. Anyone else want a name?
